I am so grateful for the privilege to be the new director of food service for the Springfield school district. Only having been here for a few months, I have been greeted with a warm welcome. In this short time I already feel the amazing sense of community along with the importance of our students receiving quality, nutritious food.
I was raised in Vermont along with my six siblings. I now make my home across the river in Walpole NH. My large Italian family spent many years working in the restaurant business and food has been an integral part of our lives. Some of my favorite memories are the days we were able to sit down at the dinner table and enjoy a meal as a family. When I became a mother I developed my own love for cooking and baking. I'm also an avid gardener, so I truly value locally sourced food. After leaving the restaurant business I began working for The Abbey Group in my local elementary school. The years I spent there taught me about the power of food. I learned that I love working with children. Most importantly I learned that our children need a balance of good quality food to fuel their bodies and minds. I am looking forward to our future together here in Springfield.
